Shits gonna piss me off every time i hear it

Watched "This Week" with George Stephanopolis. One of his guests said something that was absolutely rediculous albiet not unecpected.

It was a seemingly black woman (she had the kind of mixed skin tone where you can't tell if they are part black, hispanic, indian and i can't remember her name) but here's what she said:

"There are plenty of qualified people of color [for appointment to Obama's cabinet]".

There are so many things that go into picking cabinet advisors. Let's hope that color is not a big consideration.

You could take the present situation to the extreme through logic just to accentuate the ridiculousness of it.

Start with Obama being elected. Everyone is super ecstatic about it. Big deal because Obama is first black american elected to President's Office. Milestone because black people finally feel equal (as many have stated on video clips from election night) Now we get to picking cabinet/advisors. Statements made by some black professionals imply he should choose "colored" advisors. So they were excited and saying "finally a black president" and then the following week implying that a black president isn't enough... he needs to have "people of color" in his cabinet. What's next, we'll need to have people of color be the leaders of congress as well? Should every appointment based slot be filled with a person of "color" in order to make right the wrongs of the past? When does the color issue stop coming up? When can we stop talking about choices being made that don't have some people reverting back to the "color" issue?
