So wtf happened?!

Really!!! What the fuck happens to everyone when they turn 21? It seems that everyone loses their abillity to have fun if it doesn't involve alcohol. It's amazing how many people say they like to party all the time and go out for drinks and such. What is all that doing for the individuals? I mean I like to have a few beers every now and then but holy shit, to party more than once a week seems excessive. How did people have fun before they could buy alcohol? Oh wait! That's right, they had uninhibited conversations that weren't influenced by any kind of drug. They could go out to the park and walk around. They could go to a movie or listen to music. The problem seems similar to college football. As of late you have probably noticed that testosterone laden males have had conversations ad nauseum about what play was good, who has the best whatever in football, and how next weeks game will go. really... listening to these conversations make me wonder how these dudes manage to have a conversation when its not football season. It seems that every waking thought is centered around the sport. Now for the tie it: this seems to be the same mentality when it comes to drinking alcoholic beverages. Everyone wants to hit up the bars for a drink in the evening. Well how about driving up to vulcan park and looking up at the stars with a friend and contemplate the making of the universe. so i don't mind getting drunk every now and then (once every month or 2) but i do mind that all people my age want to do is drink. What spawned this rant was something said by a guy the other night. I was out and overheard this guy say that he got wasted on his birthday. REALLY?! Wasted on your birthday? Why not go do something with friends. Go to a sporting event. Go out to eat and then go to a spa or something. Go outside and enjoy nature with your closest friends and family... i don't know. Alcohol has become this form of currency amongst adults. If you mess something up or forget about something, you offer to buy someone a bear or take them out for a drink. I wonder if any future civilization will discover our wonton use of this chemical that does nothing beneficial for us as irresponsible and then wonder if we wouldn't have been more technologically advanced without it. i obviously needed to vent about this subject. there... all that negative energy is on the page and out of my head :-D

Stumbled onto your site and this post made me laugh. Two weeks ago out with a new friend I started talking weapons technology with a Marine. We were both really enjoying the conversation however
my friend got upset and we had to relocate to finish it. Later I found myself being chastized once again, this time for talking about the environment and conservation theory.
It was not bar talk, not happy hour talk, not party talk, not late night talk.
I made the sincere appology for wanting to talk about more than "titties and beer". Ridiculous.
