Finished rafting, wanna-be's, and the SAT

So a lot has happened in the last month or so. I have finished rafting this season. It's nice cause the other guides have left me alone the last month of the season. I guess I had finally earned my place in the hierarchy that they have established up there. One guide even went far enough to say that I was the rookie of the year, but I'm sure this was also a result of the fact that I was the only one that stayed and partied with them on Friday and Saturday nights. I am definately looking forward to returning next year, not so much to push around first year guides, but to have a season where I'm not catching shit. A season to just chill out and not have to answer to anyone because of the number of years I have been guiding. And I'll have a boat or be getting a boat by then so I'll be able to really get into kayaking. *Fingers crossed on that last bit*

I have begun 2 things in the last week that are fun at the moment. I am working at Mountain High Outfitters in the mall and I am starting to study seriously for the SAT. I am already growing cynical of the way we make money at Mountain High: selling north face jackets to people who only want the brand name, not an actual jacket that will be durable for outside activities. They are all wanna-bes in my opinion. I know I mentioned that it's fun there; the fun part is when I actually get to talk about gear and activities and help people find exactly what they need. I must say though that a lot of them what me to make a decision for them. They don't realize that it's my job to present their options so they can choose.

I'm glad I decided to check out a prep book for the SAT because I'm really going to need to hit it in order to get a good score. I felt like "i have a degree, im smart, i took calculus..." but none of that is really applicable to high school BS that I've forgotten. All that wonderful algebra 2 that you never use in calculus. I'm thinking about making a study schedule but I never do well when I make a written schedule. As long as I keep track of things in my head I'm usually ok (I think it's weird how it works but whatever).

Thats about it. I'm going to learn 5 words now.
