Bandnerding at the beach?
Got 2 weeks to go to at the US Army School of Music in Norfolk, Virginia. Should be pretty bad ass if I do say so myself. I'm flying up there tomorrow. To be honest I'm anxious, not about the training but the flying. I always get nervous. Don't know why... I'll raft class 5 rapids, rock climb, and do otherwise unsafe activities but flying (safer than driving) just gets to me. Maybe it's because while I understand that Bernoulee's Principle is used to explain the physics of flight, my mind really doesn't get how that works to lift a multiton airplane.
Anywho, lots of practicing my sax, learning to conduct ceremonies, learning to direct a marching band during a parade, and other shenanigans ahead. Did I mention it's right near the beach? Tough gig this army band thing is. Spake like yoda i did.
Interestingly enough I find myself hoping this is the 1 and only opportunity to attend the USASOM. That would mean that I'd be getting picked up for PA school in the Army. Losing an hour tonight = Lamesauce!
