Here's to the Asians

Got my SAT scores online today. I scored a culmulative 1890 out of 2400. My 2 english/writing sections averaged in the 77 and 79 % which is fine. English has never been my forte really. My essay was good i guess, I got 4's from both readers (out of a possible 6). If you know me then you know my opinion about writing a quality essay in 20 minutes :-P However, I will giggle quietly about my Math score - 710. I only missed 5 questions and I scored in the 95 %. I'm betting the only people who scored better were Asians... so here's to them. Anywho, this score is more than enough to qualify me for PA School. I needed to score a 1500 and the recommended score was a 1600 or better so I'm well above the cuff. On a more self-deprecating note: being a college graduate I was kind of hoping for a 2000 but I'll take the ballin math score and the typical english scores. Once I receive my scores via mail, I will call and verify that the right people at Fort Knox have received them and just chill out. There's nothing more to do after that. I'll sit and wait until August.

:-D

Remember them

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18338428/

As I consider a career in the military medical field, I have to acknowledge and come to terms with the fact that I may one day be one of the soldiers on this web page. It's important to take a little time to appreciate and remember those who gave all. Soldiers like these are the very reason Americans can read this blog in English.

Just worship your omnipotent being, and i'll worship mine

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,334822,00.html

read the article. it's about someone in denmark reviving offensive muslim cartoons. everyone in afghanistan is upset. well if they made a cartoon about jesus and the bible, i wouldn't care. i wouldn't get my panties in a wad about what people in another country are able to choose to do under their laws.

2 statements in the article are worth addressing:

'Spanta said freedom of speech should be used to promote "equality and peace between nations" and to exchange information.'

-No argument here. we should all try to be peaceful people, but it is not a requirement of our existence.

'"Freedom of speech must not be used to make a billion Muslims cry," he said.'

-Why are they so ready to cry about it? Maybe it's a difference in beliefs, but in christianity we are called to suffer and be persecuted. So if someone were to attack our beliefs, we should not fret about it.

Maybe i don't understand muslim beliefs in regards to their religion being attacked but still... it's a rather large world with a lot of people in it and it doesn't make any sense to get upset when someone doesn't agree with your beliefs and exercises their right to speak about it. just ignore it and continue to worship your omnipotent being.
